Stories

Instagram shows live stories only to logged-in accounts. This viewer uses no account, so it cannot read today's stories and no account is put at risk. The highlights below are the stories @nike chose to keep.

Virev search lists accounts with the same follower band and engagement, with email addresses where we have them.

How this story viewer works

Virev runs its own Instagram crawler for its creator database. This page asks that crawler for the account's public profile, its highlight tray and the page of each highlight you open, the same documents Instagram sends to a logged-out browser. No Instagram account is used, so the account owner sees nothing, and no account of yours or ours can be flagged.

A highlight page lists every slide with its photo or video file, the time it was posted, link stickers and mentions. The download button fetches the file from Instagram's CDN through virev.ai, so your browser saves it as a normal file: jpg for photos, mp4 for videos, at the size Instagram stores (1080 px wide for most slides).

Reads are cached: a profile or highlight read once is served from the saved copy for the next 24 hours, which is why a second visit to the same account loads in under a second. The site has a daily cap on fresh reads; when it is spent, saved copies still show and fresh ones return at 00:00 UTC.

What a logged-out viewer can and cannot show

Can: the profile (name, bio, counts, category, the 320 px profile picture), every highlight with every slide, and the newest posts with their files. Cannot: today's live stories, anything on a private account, story view counts, and who viewed a story. Instagram serves live stories only to logged-in accounts; sites that show them run their own account pools, and one tool we checked says so on its page ("stories store the name of one of our accounts"). Those accounts, not the visitor's, appear in the story's viewer list.

Example: @nasa

NASA keeps six highlights. The Roman highlight holds 9 slides from 30 August 2026, all video, 14 to 59 seconds each, one with a link sticker to the Roman blog. The tray read takes 3 seconds and the highlight page 13 seconds on the first open, then both come from the cache.

Instagram story viewer result for @nasa: six highlights, the Roman highlight open with 9 video slides, and the newest posts

Questions people ask

Will the account know I viewed it?
No. Highlights and posts have no viewer list, and this page reads them without any Instagram account, so there is nothing to show the owner.
Can I see live stories here?
No. Instagram serves live stories only to logged-in accounts. Highlights are the stories the account kept, and this page shows all of them.
Does it work for private accounts?
No. A private account shows its content to approved followers only. Any site claiming to open private accounts is asking for your login or your money for nothing.
Do I need an Instagram account or an app?
No. Type a username in any browser, on a phone or a computer.
What format and size are the downloads?
Photos as jpg, videos as mp4, at the size Instagram stores them, which is 1080 px wide for most slides and posts. No watermark is added.
Is it free, and is there a limit?
Free. The site has a daily cap on fresh Instagram reads shared by everyone; saved copies keep working when it is spent, and it resets at 00:00 UTC.

Need this as an API?

api.virev.ai serves the same profile, highlights tray and highlight reads as JSON, per call, with the files' CDN URLs.
