Bodybuilding influencers on Instagram by division: 71 IFBB and NPC athletes (2026)

The biggest bodybuilding influencers on Instagram in each competition division, from Chris Bumstead in classic physique to bikini, wellness, figure, women's physique and open bodybuilding, with typical post engagement measured on 18,037 competitor accounts.

Bar chart of the typical Instagram post engagement rate of bodybuilding influencers with 10,000 to 100,000 followers, by competition division. Classic physique is highest at 1.07% and figure lowest at 0.71%.

The most famous bodybuilding influencer on Instagram is Chris Bumstead, the six-time Classic Physique Mr. Olympia, with 26,033,207 followers and about 891,000 likes and comments on a typical post. Among the accounts we could measure, the largest in the other divisions are Caroline Hoban in bikini, Regan Grimes in open bodybuilding, Ju-a Nam in wellness, Ruby Rivera in figure and Eleonora Dobrinina in women's physique.

We sorted 46,071 Instagram accounts whose bio names IFBB, NPC, a pro card or a competition division, read by Virev's crawler between September 3 and November 2, 2026. 26,574 of them name a division. For 18,037 we read enough recent posts to measure a typical post, 171,059 posts in all. Classic physique athletes get the most back for their size, with 1.07% on a typical post at 10,000 to 100,000 followers, against 0.71% for figure.

Most bodybuilding influencer lists rank one pool by followers. Feedspot's top 100 opens with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Ronnie Coleman, and Influencer Hero's top 60 puts coaches, lifters and competitors in one US list. Neither splits athletes by the division they compete in, though a bikini athlete and a 212 bodybuilder reach different buyers.

How to read the numbers

  • Typical ER is the likes and comments on the middle post of an athlete's 12 newest posts, divided by followers.
  • Likes + comments per typical post is that middle post's count, which is what a brand can expect from one post.
  • Posts/wk is the pace across those 12 posts, so a competitor in show week can read high.
  • Followers come from Virev's newest read of each account, between October 7 and November 2, 2026, and the posts are from June 1 to October 26, 2026.
  • An athlete who names two divisions counts in both, which applies to 640 of the 26,574 division accounts.

The Instagram engagement rate calculator gives the same typical-post figure for an athlete who is not on this list.

Bodybuilding divisions compared

The IFBB Pro League lists 12 pro divisions, and its rules let an athlete enter only one division per contest outside masters classes. In our data, bikini and men's physique hold the most accounts and women's physique the fewest.

Each share is of the accounts in that division whose bio says so. A natural federation means the bio names OCB, WNBF or INBF, or says natural pro or natural bodybuilder.

  • Men's physique and classic physique are full of amateurs, since only 6% and 8% of their bios say IFBB pro, against 31% in women's physique and 30% in figure.
  • Wellness and bikini athletes name the NPC most often, in 41% and 37% of bios.
  • Open and 212 bodybuilding has the most natural athletes, 19% of bios, because "natural pro bodybuilder" is a common line there.
  • About two in five athletes in every division also sell coaching, from 37% in men's physique to 45% in open bodybuilding.

What a pro card, a code and a coaching offer do to engagement

We compared the 4,247 measured accounts with 10,000 to 100,000 followers by what their bio says.

  • A pro card does not lift engagement, since IFBB pros and everyone else both get 0.86% on a typical post at this size.
  • Athletes who already list a discount code get 1.31%, about 1.6 times the rest. Our data cannot tell which came first, and brands may sign the athletes whose posts already land.
  • The code gap shows in five of the seven divisions. In open and 212 bodybuilding, athletes with a code get 1.86% against 0.79%, and in figure 1.42% against 0.66%.
  • Men's physique does not show it (0.82% against 0.92%), and women's physique has only 7 coded accounts at this size.
  • Natural athletes get 1.20% against 0.85%, on 255 accounts.
  • Accounts that sell coaching or prep get 0.81%, a little below the 0.91% of athletes who do not.

  • @prozis is named in 352 bios, more than any other brand, and in every division.
  • @officialgasp shows up in 32 open and 212 bios and only 4 bikini bios, so GASP's athletes in our data are mostly bodybuilders.
  • @theshoefairy_, which makes stage and competition heels, is named in 43 bikini, 18 wellness and 9 figure bios, and in no classic physique or men's physique bio.
  • @bombafit.it, a gymwear brand, is named in 38 bikini and 9 wellness bios and in no men's division bio.
  • @rawnutrition, Chris Bumstead's brand, is named most in classic physique, his division.

How to choose a bodybuilding influencer

  1. Pick the division that matches your product. In the brand table, The Shoe Fairy's stage heels sit in bikini, wellness and figure bios, while GASP sits mostly in open and classic bodybuilding bios.
  2. Compare an athlete's typical post with the median for their division and size in the engagement table, not with a general fitness figure.
  3. Read the bio for codes. An athlete who already lists a code tends to get more engagement, and the brand on it may be your competitor.
  4. Do not pay extra for a pro card alone, because pros and amateurs get the same typical post at 10,000 to 100,000 followers.
  5. Plan around show season. Competitors post in bursts around a show and go quiet in prep, so ask for dates before you book.

How we built this list

  1. We read the newest bio of every Instagram account with 1,000 or more followers that Virev's crawler read between September 3 and November 2, 2026, and kept bios that name IFBB, NPC, OCB, WNBF, INBF, WBFF, PCA, a pro card or a division.
  2. A division counts when the bio names it. Bikini and figure also need a federation or a pro card in the bio, or a word such as athlete, competitor or pro after the division. Wellness also needs a competition word within two words of it, so a wellness coach is left out. Open and 212 bodybuilding counts bios that name the class or call the athlete a pro bodybuilder, with a federation or pro card, and no other division.
  3. We dropped accounts whose Instagram category is a gym, a brand, a store, a team or an event, and bios that read as federation pages, suit makers or fan pages. That left 46,071 accounts.
  4. For each account we took the 12 newest posts posted June 1 to October 26, 2026, and counted an account in the engagement tables only with six or more of them.
  5. We picked the named athletes from the largest accounts in each division and from accounts with 10,000 to 100,000 followers and 12 recent posts whose typical post is well above the median. We left out accounts with no post since late September and accounts already on the US gym influencers list. The notes repeat what each bio says.

Instagram hides saves, shares and story views, so no rate here counts them. Bios change, and a division in a bio is what the athlete says, not a federation record. The crawl favors accounts that brands look up, so the counts are not a census of every competitor on Instagram. We list only public business details. Reach an athlete through the email or management contact in their bio.

Data for journalists.
