Micro fitness influencers on Instagram: 55 creators with 1K to 50K followers (2026)

55 micro and nano fitness influencers on Instagram with 1,000 to 50,000 followers, in the US, UK, Canada and Australia. Typical-post engagement, posting pace, a recent post and brand fit for each, split by bodybuilding, powerlifting, running, yoga, coaches, home workouts and women's strength. Picked from 1,396 small fitness creators Virev measured.

Scatter chart of 55 fitness creators on Instagram between 1,000 and 50,000 followers, colored by sub-niche. Accounts under 10,000 followers sit higher, with a higher engagement rate on their typical post.

This is a list of 55 fitness creators on Instagram with 1,000 to 50,000 followers, in the US, the UK, Canada and Australia. It is split into seven groups: bodybuilding, powerlifting and strongman, running, yoga and Pilates, gym owners and coaches, home workouts, and women's strength. For each creator you get the follower count, the engagement rate of their typical post, how often they post, one recent post and a note on which brands fit. We picked them from 1,396 fitness creators of that size that Virev's crawler read between August 25 and September 30, 2026. We opened every profile on Instagram on October 5.

The pages that rank for "micro fitness influencers" do not stay in that size range. The first account on Feedspot's top 80 micro fitness list has 642,000 followers. Orbitvibe's nano fitness list says it is locked to 1,000 to 10,000 followers, and its creators run from 9,300 to 82,400. Influencer Hero's guide names ten creators in three tiers. None of them says what a sponsored post gets at this size, or how many small creators work in each sub-niche. This page measures both.

A labeled ad on a nano fitness account gets 86% of the usual likes and comments. Above 500K it is 41%.

How to read the numbers

  • Typical ER is likes plus comments on the creator's median post, divided by followers. One viral Reel can lift an average far above what a paid post will get, so we use the median post.
  • Posts/wk is the pace across the creator's 12 most recent posts.
  • Recent post links to a post close to the creator's typical numbers, with the date and the likes we read on Instagram on October 5. For four creators whose typical post was older, we link their newest post instead.
  • Followers come from Virev's last read of each account, between August 23 and September 26, 2026.

47 of the 55 creators beat the median typical-post ER of their follower band (the medians are in the data section below). The other 8 are on the list for a sub-niche or a market that is hard to fill. To check a creator who is not here, paste the handle into the Instagram engagement rate calculator. For TikTok accounts, use the TikTok engagement rate calculator.

Engagement by follower count inside fitness

Bar chart. Typical post engagement rate by follower band. Fitness creators against all individual creators: 1K-3K 4.65% against 4.32%, 3K-5K 3.53% against 3.16%, 5K-10K 2.79% against 2.37%, 10K-25K 1.63% against 1.65%, 25K-50K 1.32% against 1.28%.

Under 10,000 followers, fitness creators beat the median of all creators their size by 0.33 to 0.42 points. From 10,000 followers up, the two are level. The rate also falls fast. The median creator with 1,000 to 3,000 followers gets 3.5 times the rate of the median creator with 25,000 to 50,000. Posting pace goes the other way. Creators with 25,000 to 50,000 followers post 2.2 times a week, almost twice as often as those under 3,000.

The spread inside each band is wide. Among fitness creators with 1,000 to 3,000 followers, a quarter get under 2.41% and a quarter get over 7.82%. A follower count tells you little until you look at the typical post.

How many small fitness creators we track, by sub-niche

Two bar charts by sub-niche. Creators measured with 1K-10K and 10K-50K followers: running 179 and 104, bodybuilding 193 and 167, women's strength 91 and 81, yoga and Pilates 77 and 25, gym owners and coaches 85 and 78, powerlifting and strongman 21 and 12, home and calisthenics 11 and 9, general fitness 146 and 117. Typical post ER for each.
Sub-niche from each creator's Virev profile and bio. A creator sits in one group only.

Bodybuilding (360 creators) and running (283) are the two largest groups. Powerlifting and strongman (33) and home workouts (20) are thin, so we added creators from a bio search of the same database for those sections. Yoga and Pilates accounts have the lowest rate in both bands, 2.70% under 10,000 followers and 0.77% above it, and few of them grow past 10,000: 25 against 77 below.

Runners hold up best as they grow. Above 10,000 followers, running creators keep a typical rate of 1.87%, the highest of any group with more than 30 creators. Race posts, finish times and club runs draw comments.

Bar chart. Sponsored fitness post response as a multiple of the creator's usual post, by follower band: 1K-10K 0.86x, 10K-50K 0.62x, 50K-100K 0.62x, 100K-500K 0.56x, 500K+ 0.41x.
Median of each sponsored post divided by the same creator's usual post. 1K-50K: this study. 50K and up: the same method on the 2,001 creators in our fitness list.

We read every post the 1,396 creators published from January 1 to September 27, 2026, and kept 61,316 posts with visible likes on 1,394 accounts. 365 were sponsored: they carried Instagram's paid partnership label or an ad tag such as #ad or #sponsored. The median sponsored post got 0.71x the likes and comments of the same creator's usual post, and 65% fell below it.

Post type, 1K to 50K followersPostsCreatorsResponse vs usual post

The size of the account decides most of the loss. On creators under 10,000 followers, a sponsored post gets 0.86x the usual response (122 posts). From 10,000 to 50,000 it is 0.62x (243 posts), and above 500,000 it is 0.41x. On a nano account, followers react to an ad about the way they react to the rest of the feed.

A post with only a discount code loses less than a labeled ad: 0.90x on 781 posts. A hand check of 20 random code posts found 18 real brand codes. Only 4% of these creators used the paid partnership label at all in their last 12 posts, so most brand work at this size runs as codes and tags.

Case: Ekkovision and its small gymwear creators

Bar chart of eight creators by number of posts tagging Ekkovision, from 58 posts by @ellaroselifts to 9 posts by @johnny_b_lifting, with each creator's median response against their usual post, from 0.72x to 1.28x.
Posts tagging @ekkovision, @ekkowmns or @ekkovisionclothing, March 25 to August 29, 2026. One creator with a single post is not shown.

Ekkovision is a gymwear brand with 91,000 Instagram followers. Among the code and ad posts of the small fitness creators we track, it is the brand tagged by the most creators. From March 25 to August 29, 2026, nine of them tagged it in 251 posts. Six of the nine had under 3,000 followers.

The posts look like the creators' normal feed: gym clips, outfit checks and food. Ella Rose (@ellaroselifts, 1,527 followers, then 1,815 on October 5) tagged Ekkovision in 58 posts, 50 of them in August, 64% of everything she posted in that window. Her bio carries the code MASC, and her caption on one August post reads "whole fit is @ekkovision". Kaira (@kairaleezito, 1,416 followers) tagged it in 53 posts over five months.

Across all 251 posts the median response was 0.92x the creator's usual post, against 0.71x for labeled ads at this size. A third of them carried a discount code. None used Instagram's paid partnership label. For the brand, that means steady posts at close to normal engagement from creators who wear the product every week. For a follower, the brand relationship is hard to see. In the US, the FTC asks creators to disclose any brand relationship, including free or discounted products, on each post.

How to choose micro fitness creators

  1. Compare inside the band. A 3% typical rate is strong at 30,000 followers and weak at 2,000. Use the table above, not the all-creator figure.
  2. Pick the sub-niche before the creator. Runners keep their rate as they grow. Yoga and Pilates accounts reach fewer people per post but bring local classes and studio events.
  3. Count the codes already running. Brady Roberts already runs three codes, and Bria runs two. Read how to check a creator's sponsorship history before you send an offer.
  4. Prefer a code to a label when you can. At this size a code post keeps 0.90x of the response. Disclose either way.
  5. Plan for many small creators. Ekkovision's nine creators posted 251 times in five months. A brand that works with many nano creators gives up reach per post and loses less on each ad: 0.86x under 10,000 followers against 0.41x above 500,000.

How we built this list

  1. Find candidates. We took every public Instagram account with 1,000 to 50,000 followers that Virev read between August 25 and September 30, 2026. We kept individual creators whose Virev creator profile names fitness, gym, bodybuilding, strength, CrossFit, running, marathon, triathlon, yoga, Pilates, calisthenics or workouts as the main niche. Gymnastics, and cycling, swimming or skiing niches without a fitness or running word, were left out.
  2. Measure. For each account we used up to 12 recent posts from its own feed, at least three days old when read and not pinned. 1,396 creators had six or more such posts. Sub-niches come from the creator's niche, sub-niche tags and bio, one group per creator.
  3. Widen the thin groups. For powerlifting, strongman and home workouts we searched bios in the same database for words such as powerlifter, strongman, USAPL, home workout and home gym, with accounts read since April 1, 2026. Seven list creators come from that search and are not in the 1,396.
  4. Pick. We favored English-language creators in the US, UK, Canada and Australia who posted in the last six weeks and beat the median of their band. We opened 123 profiles.
  5. Check by hand. On October 5, 2026 we opened all 123 profiles on Instagram and read the bio and recent posts. We removed 68. 37 had no clear location in the four countries. 19 were off-niche: two pro wrestlers, a photographer, a hiking account, a tribute account to a late bodybuilder, a gun-sport athlete, a mantra musician, an event page and several travel and lifestyle accounts. 6 we left out for balance or low numbers, 3 had no recent post we could open, 1 had grown past 50,000 followers and 1 posted messaging we would not put in front of a brand. One more had no following, no personal details and only posing clips, and we could not tell whether a real person runs it, so we left it out. We found no account we could confirm as AI-generated.
  6. Example posts. We re-read one post per creator on Instagram on October 5. The likes in the tables are from that day.

Sponsored posts: a post's usual response is the median likes plus comments of the same account's posts without a paid label, ad tag, gifted tag, code, affiliate link or giveaway. Accounts needed four such posts. A sponsored post is one with the paid label or an ad tag (#ad, #sponsored, #paidpartnership and similar). The bands above 50,000 followers use the same method on the 2,001 creators from our list of 40 fitness influencers.

Limits: Instagram does not show saves, shares or story views, so they are not in these rates. The 1,396 creators are the accounts Virev crawls, which lean toward accounts brands search for, not a random sample of Instagram. Home workout and powerlifting creators are thin in our data, so read their medians with care. We list only public business details. Contact creators through the channels on their profiles.

Data for journalists. Sample: 1,396 public Instagram fitness creators with 1,000 to 50,000 followers, read by Virev's crawler between August 25 and September 30, 2026, and 61,316 of their posts dated January 1 to September 27, 2026.
